About Cherry Blossom Makeup
Cherry Blossom makeup is characterized by a baby pink hue spread all across your face, like real cherry blossoms blooming overhead. Though it falls in line with the milky pink “Ballet Slipper” lips we saw everywhere this winter, this look also encompasses the eyes and cheeks.

While a tiny bit of shimmer is welcome to illustrate those pink and white blooms dancing in the breeze, it’s not necessary. A good keyword is “milky” and a good color cue—besides actual cherry blossoms—is the Starbucks Pink Drink.

Where You’ve Seen It
Cherry Blossom makeup was appearing all over our Instagram feeds long before the first signs of spring were spotted, and now that warmer weather is (sort of) here the look feels even more in tune with our natural GRWM inclinations.

Kiernan Shipka wore it to the Vanity Fair Oscars party alongside a 3D cherry blossom-adorned Rodarte gown, Leah Kateb chose it for the premiere of The Drama, and Chase Infiniti has been all about it. (I know her lavender Oscars look is getting a lot of attention, but she likes a soft pink, too!)

Though it was shot in the British countryside, home to more wildflowers than cherry blossom trees, Charlotte Tilbury’s new “In Bloom” campaign is also very on theme with the trend. The Glinda products in R.e.m.’s Wicked: For Good collection relied heavily on the floral imagery, too.
“I use these on my cheeks, I also use them as eyeshadow. I use them all over my face!” Ariana Grande previously told Byrdie while talking about her brand’s Cherry Blossom Blush Palette.
That’s how a flower girl gets it done.

If you have a favorite soft pink makeup product, take it out and start playing. Otherwise, here are some of my recommendations. And happy cherry blossom season! Those sweet flowers are fleeting, but this look will stick around—until peony season, at least.
