Dove Has a Major Upgrade for Your Summer Exfoliation Ritual

It's no secret that Dove knows what the people want. To be appreciated for all our natural gorgeousness is one thing. Deodorant that really does the job is another. And then, there's our desire for body care that's as thoughtful as the products we put on our face.

Last year, the brand introduced a line of cream serums for the body that were inspired by your favorite skincare products. Now, they're turning things up a notch with dual-action products made to target specific body skin concerns. Keep reading for all of the information on the Serum+ Dual Action Scrubs, which launch Wednesday, July 1.

The Inspiration

Dove has seen the growing demand for more targeted body care solutions—no one is satisfied with a simple body wash situation any more (no matter how fab or iconic that body wash may be).

The vision for the Serum+ Dual Action Body Scrubs was to combine exfoliation with skincare-inspired ingredients to help address specific body skin concerns. Think keratosis pilaris (you might know it as "strawberry legs"), rough texture, dullness, or a classic case of uneven tone.

The Formula(s)

As mentioned, there are two new formulas in the lineup, both of which were co-created with a team of dermatologists and beauty experts to make sure they got the pH balance just right. First up we have Dove Serum+ Bump Dual Action Scrub. Specifically formulated for those experiencing KP, the 10% AHA and BHA serum features a dual-action chemical (salicylic and lactic acids!) and physical (coconut shell powder!) exfoliating formula. You'll also find glycerin working its hydrating magic and a light fragrance dubbed "violet woods."

Then, there's Dove Serum+ Radiance Dual Action Scrub. Exfoliating and moisturizing, it works to brighten your skin, improving the appearance of uneven tone and revealing smoother, more radiant-looking skin when you use it regularly.

The naturally-derived exfoliants present here include a blend of sugar and salt that'll gently buff away dead skin cells as you massage it in. There's more glycerin, plus hydrating and softening soybean oil, shea butter, and an essential oil blend to offer some nice fragrance.

Both serums were made to be integrated into your already-beloved shower routine. Three or four times a week, you'll squeeze a generous amount into your hands and gently massage onto your damp skin in little circles before rinsing and stepping out of the shower to appreciate your silky soft skin in all its glory.
