Key Takeaways
- On Thursday, August 6, Estée Lauder is launching Glimmer Eau de Parfum.
- The amber floral fragrance arrives with a Hailee Steinfeld-fronted campaign that reminds you to find the glimmers in everyday life.
Though you can’t physically see someone’s perfume, the right scent does an impressive job in adding a layer to their outfit/general vibe.
That doesn’t mean you should be wearing it for someone else, though—you should wear your favorite fragrance for you. Even if you’re not in the mood to showcase yourself any certain way, the layer a scent adds might remind you of something you need to be reminded of. That everything will be okay, perhaps? Or—if you happen to be wearing Estée Lauder’s newest scent—how nice it was the last time you danced in the rain.
On August 6, Estée Lauder is introducing Glimmer Eau de Parfum, a new amber floral fragrance that honors the teeny tiny everyday glimmers of hope/goodness/inspiration that make us feel our best. Keep reading to learn everything there is to know about the scent and it’s gorgeous (Hailee Steinfeld fronted!) campaign.

The Inspiration
According to a report by WGSN, 87% of global consumers are currently expressing interest in fragrances that deliver emotional or physical benefits—apart from a nice smell, of course. Glimmer was made to echo the “small, mood-shifting moments of joy today’s consumer is craving.”
“Crafted to be felt, remembered, and shared, the scent transforms everyday experiences into something magnetic and unforgettable,” explained the brand in a press release. “Glimmer taps into this growing desire for scent as both experience and self-expression.”

The Scent
Glimmer was going to shine from the start. It was crafted by a group of renowned perfumers—Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo, and Jean-Marc Chaillan—working to capture “the essence of life’s small pleasures and memorable moments.”

In the end, the experts decided this smelled like top notes of raspberry mousse accord, orange flower, and mandarin oil. The middle features a macaron rose accord, rose, vanilla bean, and cashmeran, while the base notes include Estée Lauder exclusives “shimmering patchouli” and amber essence accord, sandalwood accord, cedarwood accord, and tonka bean for “a radiant warmth that lingers long after you’ve left the room.”

The Campaign
Alongside the launch, Estée Lauder revealed Hailee Steinfeld as their official Glimmer girl.

“Hailee is the embodiment of what Glimmer represents; she is confident, has a contagious sense of joy, and understands the power of connecting with her community,” said Justin Boxford, Estée Lauder’s global brand president, in a press release. “Consumers have grown up with Hailee and have followed her journey from a young actress to an accomplished multi-hyphenate artist and cultural force. Her authenticity, creativity, and ability to inspire audiences across generations make her the perfect ambassador for Glimmer.”
The campaign video features a cover of “Feeling Good” by the actress, as well as plenty of clips of her finding moments of glimmer in her day. She wears cozy sweaters, spends time in nature and with friends, and dances in the rain on multiple occasions, in multiple outfits.

“Fragrance has an incredible ability to tell a story without words, evoke emotion, and create memories that stay with you,” explained Steinfeld in the release. “What drew me to Glimmer is that it’s more than a fragrance; it’s a feeling and I’m honored to be a part of it.”
