Start Your Wishlist Now—Hourglass Just Dropped Its Stunning Holiday Palettes

There are so many holiday traditions to cherish. One of them—which, luckily for the impatient, starts well before ‘tis the season—is the release of Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Palettes.

While last year’s launch was a one-day-only affair, this year’s offerings provide a bit more luck to the potential buyer. Literally. Each of the four palettes in The Holiday Collection features a “charm” chosen by French jewelry artist Lauren Rubinski, who collaborated with the brand on this year’s packaging design.

The Inspiration

Dubbed Love, Hope, Luck, and Wish, this year’s four palettes were inspired by “symbols of possibility.” Whether you keep yours for yourself or offer it up as a thoughtful gift, whoever uses the six shades within will imbue themself with a bit of goodness in every application.

To make things even sweeter, 5% of net profits from the collection—which also features a brush, vegan leather makeup bag, travel brush set, and set of the brand’s bestsellers—will be donated to the Nonhuman Rights Projects to support its work advancing fundamental rights for animals.

The Design

Designed to be a “timeless keepsake you’ll want to carry, display, and treasure long after the product is finished,” the consciously crafted tin palettes were inspired by the elegant gold evening clutches popular in the ‘50s. Each features an elegant, smooth metal finish accented by the 3D charm of your choice.

With the Sephora-exclusive Love, you’ll find a jeweled heart at the palette’s center. Hope features a heart and key, Luck has an upside-down horseshoe that symbolizes “the pouring of good fortune outward to others,” and Wish naturally includes a four-leaf clover.

“With this year’s collection, we’re proud to continue our tradition of celebrating female creatives through a collaboration with French jewelry designer Lauren Rubinski. Known for uniting French elegance with Italian craftsmanship, Lauren’s work reflects the same balance of heritage and modernity that defines Hourglass,” shared the brand’s founder and CEO Carisa Janes in a press release. “Her creations celebrate individuality, passion, and authenticity—a shared belief that beauty is a form of personal expression.”

The Shades

Per usual, there are new hand-blended shades (Hourglass has a signature mixing technique that ensures the perfect balance of pigment and powder) of blush, bronzer, and highlighter to discover in each palette—plus an already-beloved shade of finishing powder.

When you open up Hope, you’ll find Ambient Lighting Powder in the soft pale peach shade Soft Light, plus new Brilliant Pink blush (a vibrant rose and soft pink mélange) Soft Rosewood blush (a dusty rose), highlighter in Luminous Opal (a soft lilac and muted champagne pearl mélange), blush in Rose Quartz (a muted neutral plum), and bronzer in Sunlit Bronze (a muted neutral bronze).

Love includes the neutral-beige Dim Light powder shade, plus new Vivid Coral blush (the name says it all!), highlighter in Rose Gold Glow (a petal pink pearl and soft gold pearl mélange), bronzer in matte Natural Bronze, blush in Electric Pink (an electric cool pink and soft pink mélange), and blush in Rose Heat (a deep berry satin).

Charm gets the cool translucent Eternal Light Powder alongside blush in Radiant Mauve (a rich plum), highlighter in Topaz Glow (a shimmer bronzed apricot), blush in Orchid Flush (terracotta peach and raspberry pink mélange) and Soft Dahlia (a cool rosy mauve), and bronzer in Velvet Bronze (a matte, cool rich bronze). And for Wish? Warm pale yellow Diffused Light powder, soft pink and light champagne pearl mélange Moonstone Glow highlighter, soft warm bronze mélange Ethereal Bronze bronzer, and blushes in the muted Mauve Flush, rose apricot Pink Aura, and soft Desert Rose.
