Lady Gaga's New Blue Bob Is Straight Out of 2011

In the best way.

Lady Gaga is so back. Okay, she never went away—and hopefully never does—but her latest era is proving to be a true return to form. At the 2025 Grammy Awards, she ditched her classic movie star cosplay for gothic glamour—and during the commercial breaks, she dropped her new single, "Abracadabra," which sees her return to her Born This Way roots, both sonically and stylistically.

The hits just keep on coming. On February 6, Gaga took to Instagram to reveal her latest hair change, and it's giving me deja vu—in the best way possible.

Lady Gaga's New Blue Bob

Just a few days after debuting her soft jellyfish cut at the Grammys, Gaga showed off a new teal bob on Instagram. In the video, she's signing a stack of vinyl of her upcoming album, Mayhem. She's wearing a simple black T-shirt dress and blazer, but the real star of the show is her new 'do. Hitting right at her chin, her hair had a wavy texture we rarely see from the star, and a deep teal blue shade. It's possible the look is a wig or this is an older video, but we don't really care—she looks amazing either way.

This Isn't Her First Blue Bob Rodeo

Little Monsters will know that this isn't Gaga's first foray with blue hair. In 2011, she favored a bright blue turquoise bob with straight across bangs while promoting Born This Way. While similar in color and length, her latest take on the look is much more lived-in than the ultra-sleek styling of her 2011 bob. During that time she also kept the vibrant blue shade, but styled in long and straight, or in soft waves with dramatic dark roots.

In 2018, She brought the blue hair back for her Enigma residency in Las Vegas, this time opting for a true blue shade and long pigtails. The color made a softer return at the 2019 Golden Globes, where she tinted her platinum updo a soft baby blue to compliment her Cinderella-esque gown.
