Key Takeaways
- Lisa Rinna arrived at the 2026 Emmy Awards with a super side-parted and slicked-back hairstyle.
- Her stylist, Brian Fisher, told Byrdie exactly how to get the look.
Oh, to get ready for an awards show with Lisa Rinna. The chatter is no doubt spectacular, the glam vision is clear, and I’m sure there’s dancing.
For the 2026 Emmy Awards on Monday, September 14, Rinna sat down with celebrity hairstylist Brian Fisher as he worked her iconic hair into the perfect slicked-back style.
“[There’s] always fun music, great conversation, and company,” the artist tells Byrdie. “Lisa takes joy in all aspects of life and without even saying it reminds us how lucky we are to do the jobs we do!”
Seriously, even if the only context you had from the night was the style itself on the red carpet, you could tell a blast was had. And we have even more to share. Ahead, Fisher shares everything there is to know about the look—including how you can get it yourself.

While a short and feather-y shag cut will always be her signature style, Rinna has proven herself to be quite a hair chameleon over the last few years. Her wig collection is impressive.
Nevertheless, she chose to stick with her literal roots and utilize her own, personal strands for the evening with a deeply side-parted slick-back style that featured a bit of flip at the ends.

“Lisa exudes confidence and, while we talked about wigs and hairpiece options, she wanted to be comfortable as The Emmys is a long day,” Fisher notes.
The Inspiration
Again, it comes as no surprise that Fisher says Lisa is always very collaborative and “so fun to work with as she loves to play and switch things up.”
“We took inspiration from Audrey Hepburn’s pixie bangs and looked at Kate Moss’s early 2000s crop as a more modern cool girl reference,” he says of this particular night’s mood board.
Walking the red carpet alongside her husband, Harry Hamlin, Rinna paired the hair with a billowy and sparkly black dress from Lever Couture that felt like neither of her glam muses—just herself.

For the awards show, Fisher worked with a collection of K18 products.

“Lisa is already a huge fan of K18 so she started with the Peptide Prep Detox Shampoo. Since she has gone straight from NYFW to Emmys weekend parties it’s great to gently remove product build up,” he says. “Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask is used on clean hair—no conditioner needed! I’m obsessed with the HeatBounce Conditioning Heat Protectant and a generous amount of the Molecular Repair Hair Oil to give us that almost wet shine.”

The key to this style, according to the artist, is “finessing the root with a product like AstroLift Reparative Volume Spray to lock in the deep side parting.” Then you’re going to want to “sweep the sides back and tuck behind the ears to keep the nape very tight to the head.”
“After blowing out and applying the Molecular Repair Hair Oil, I love to use a paper wrap to press everything down until it’s time to go,” he adds.
And ta-da—your Rinnavation is complete.
