I love a good sculpted, contoured makeup look. Whether I'm working on a shoot, a client, or myself, it's all about chiseled cheekbones and tricks to make facial features look their best. While it takes some practice to learn the art of contouring and sculpting, it's always worth experimenting with products and techniques until it clicks. The best part is you can go at your own pace, understanding that the products you use certainly make a difference.
I'm always excited to try new formulas, so naturally, MAC Cosmetics' newest launch, the Multisculpt Matte Liquid Eyeshadow and All-Over Color, immediately piqued my interest. Ahead, I put this multi-use sculpting product to test to see if the hype was real (and, spoiler alert: It is). Keep reading for my honest review and tutorial.
About My Skin: Natural makeup looks are my favorite
I wear makeup every single day. Even if I'm at home and not going anywhere, I will put on some makeup because it makes me feel good. I also prioritize skincare and treatments regularly, and I have a solid routine that addresses all my concerns. I tend to wear natural makeup looks regularly, and some key products I use are a light skin tint, concealer, mascara, bronzer, contour, blush, and lip tint or gloss.
Typically, my makeup takes only 10 minutes to apply, as I've got my favorite products and application tailored to my exact preferences. Of course, when I try a new product, it takes a bit more trial and error to refine. While I'm not into heavy makeup looks, I've found ways to use all my favorite products together, and the result still looks natural and complements my features.
The Formula: Lightweight, shade-flexible, and crease-resistant
MAC's new Multisculpt Matte comes with an exhaustive list of benefits that caught my attention, many of which focus on wear time, comfort, and a lightweight feel, along with a natural finish and crease resistance. Basically, it claims to have everything you could want—so I was excited to see it in action.
This product is positioned as a multi-hyphenate product that you can wear on the eyes and face, with several shades that work as eyeshadow, contour, bronzer, and even blush. The easy-to-blend, buildable colors help you enhance the best of your features. Resistant to sweat, humidity, and water, the multisculpt formula lets you easily sculpt, contour, add warmth, highlight, and create eyeshadow looks that last. It comes in 14 shades, fitting a range of skin tones and makeup preferences.

How to Apply: Blend and buff with precision
I put three different shades to the test to contour, bronze, and use as blush to see how well each one performed. First, I contoured my face with shade "Buffed Up," placing it right under my cheekbones, along my nose and tip, my jawline, and at the corner of each eye. I prefer a natural contour, so I intentionally kept the lines on the thinner side. In my before photo, I'm wearing skin tint, mascara, and a light lip color to start.

The Contour
I applied the contour in all the areas, then lightly buffed it out with a fluffy brush to get it blended just how I wanted it. While the product is matte and dries quickly, one thing I found impressive was how easy it was to blend and how natural it looked, leaving no streaking or marks behind.

This part might take some practice, as blending always does. If you don't get it right away, keep trying until you get a feel for the formula, your skin type, and your makeup brushes. You can also place the product on your hand and pick it up with a brush before applying it to your face if you feel more comfortable starting with a lighter color and building your way up. Once blended, you can add more color to enhance the shading or leave it as is if you're happy with the result.
The Bronzer
I love adding warmth to my complexion. My skin tone is pretty fair, so I can often use a boost of color and soft flush. I typically wear bronzer year-round, so it made sense to try a different shade after contouring.

Since I have bangs, I typically don't apply anything to my forehead, focusing on my cheekbones and my chin as the main areas. You can also, of course, apply this to your forehead area to enhance it. I used the shade "Hodgepodge" as my bronzer, blending it out the same way as the contour.
The Blush
Lastly, I wanted to add a blush to the apples of my cheeks and also my eyelids to create a monochromatic look that I could wear on repeat. I started by applying the shade "Velvet Teddy" to my cheeks, then added some to my eyelids, as well. I blended the blush section with a brush and used my fingers to blend out the eyelid color. The final look is soft and natural while bringing out my features in the best way.

The Results: Beautiful and long-wearing
I loved testing these multisculpt matte colors and playing with the shades to help contour, bronze, and add some color to my skin. They blended easily, felt soft on my skin, and lasted all day without any noticeable creasing. I was impressed with how easy the entire process was from start to finish, and I will be implementing these into my makeup routine moving forward.

The Final Verdict: A truly impressive multitasker
We understand that with so many new beauty launches, it's often hard to keep up with what's worth your hard-earned money. Thanks to its long wear time and the ability to use it in multiple ways, the MAC Multisculpt Matte Liquid Eyeshadow and All-Over Color is certainly worth trying if you want to up your contour, bronze, blush, and shadow game. With its range of purposes and easy-to-blend formula, you may just find yourself adding more than one shade to your makeup bag.
