Megan Thee Stallion Tried an Unexpected Hair Color for Summer

I was getting worried for a second, but Megan Thee Stallion has finally appeared to get our hot girl summer beauty plans solidified. On May 29, she showed up at Miami Swim Week for the reveal of her new swimsuit line—the aptly named Hot Girl Summer—with a new hair color (and manicure!) that we’re ready to copy immediately.

A big change-up from the bright copper locks she chose to kick off 2025 and hot pink that came after, the rapper’s hair was back to its natural brunette palette. Hairstylist Kellon Deryck is behind the brown shade, which made its runway debut in tight, cascading natural curls. While most opt to go lighter in the summer, Megan opted for something dark and moody, it's a color I'd best describe as "espresso." Not that a bean or tiny cup of java has ever looked this good.

“Brought the curls back for @theestallion’s first runway show at Miami swim week,” he wrote in an Instagram post. For another look, he worked them into a tendril-y loose updo with a middle part and the curls piled on top of her head.

For the runway, the 30-year-old wore her famous fingernails long and square shaped. They were painted a hot (!) pink—which, for Megan, is actually pretty simple?—shade that looked ever so bright against her silver cutout swimsuit.

Tahvya Krok was in charge of the mani, while makeup artist Diana Shin took control of makeup. Shimmery shadow and brown-lined lips with pink gloss were the moves.

So... now that we have this inspiration at hand, we can get on with planning our own hot girl summers. I'll see you at the pool? After the salon, of course.
