We put the One/Size On 'Til Dawn Setting Spray to the test after receiving a complimentary sample from the brand. Keep reading for our full product review.
I still remember the first setting spray I ever used: M.A.C. Fix+. Everyone—and I mean everyone—had it. Since then, I realized that a setting spray can have multiple uses. Of course, it can set your makeup, but it also helps prevent smudging and fading. Some also prep skin, others contain SPF, and some people even use it to keep their brows in place. The main drawback I've found with setting sprays is that many leave behind a wet feeling, so I set out to find one that works for any skin type without leaving my skin soaked.
I've always enjoyed Patrick Starr's GRWM videos and his resulting makeup, so when he launched the One/Size On 'Til Dawn Setting Spray—which claims to make your makeup last for up to 16 hours with a matte finish—I was instantly intrigued. Recently, I put it to the test to see if it would withstand my busy schedule. Read on for my full review, detailing everything from the finish to the staying power.
One/Size On 'Til Dawn Setting Spray

Price: $32
About the brand: One/Size, founded by Patrick Starr, is known for its makeup and skincare products, which are designed to fit any skin type and look. As the brand's slogan says, "Makeup is a one-size-fits-all," and inclusivity is at the heart of every product.
About My Skin: Dry with occasional T-zone oiliness
I have dry skin overall, but I sometimes get oily around my T-zone (it doesn't happen daily, but I'm always interested in solutions for when it does). I've tried many different brands of setting spray over the years, and I tend to go for products that extend the life of my makeup while boosting hydration and glow.
Adding the One/Size setting spray to my routine was easy since I already use this type of product regularly. One trait that sets it apart from others I have tried is that it's a mattifying setting spray.

How to Apply: Use a circular motion
I applied the One/Size setting spray after completing all my makeup steps, except mascara. To get the most out of it, start by giving the bottle a good shake. Then, hold it about 10 to 12 inches from your face, close your eyes, and spray in a circular motion.

The Results: Makeup that lasts for hours
The One/Size Setting Spray has a light texture that doesn't feel heavy on the skin. It sprays like a mist, and my face doesn't feel soaked after applying it—which is amazing. The product has a faint aerosol smell that I could have done without, but it didn't last and wasn't irritating to my skin.

Since I have dry skin, I used my most hydrating products to prep. Next, I applied all my makeup (foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer, powder, eyeliner) before using the setting spray and finishing with mascara. I could see the mattifying effect setting in, and it left my makeup looking so smooth—like a soft-focus effect in real life.
I typically remove my makeup around 10:30 p.m., but on some days, it stays on past midnight. Some days, when I tried the spray, I spent hours outside taking photos around the city, while other days, I ran errands or stayed home. Through it all, one thing I noticed was that my makeup stayed in place. There was a small amount of fading on my nose and for some of my blush, but it largely kept my makeup intact for hours, and my T-zone stayed oil-free. Even on my cheeks, where my skin is driest, my makeup didn't separate, although it clung slightly to my dry patches. Overall, I felt like my makeup could withstand a lot with this setting spray.
The Value: A worthwhile upgrade
The One/Size setting spray packaging is sleek and easy to use, making it feel worthy of the price from the start. It also contains two standout ingredients: green tea extract to help tighten pores and witch hazel to absorb oil for a blurred, matte finish. If you have oily, combination, or normal skin, these benefits will work in your favor. I would use this more in the summer due to my drier skin, as it provides a great balance of a matte finish and a hydration boost.
When it comes to staying power, this spray does the job. The mist has a fine texture, but it does an impressive job of keeping makeup in place for hours, no matter the temperature or your plans for the day (or night). It doesn’t leave my face feeling drenched, yet you can still see it working. The price and size are similar to other brands, although more product would be a welcome bonus. Ultimately, the One/Size Setting Spray has earned a spot among my top setting sprays, keeping my makeup looking matte and airbrushed for hours.
Similar Products: You've got options
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray: A cult-favorite, Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray is another option that offers up to 16 hours of staying power. Its lightweight formula gives a natural, matte finish, though it can feel a bit heavier and wetter than the One/Size spray. If you prefer a weightless feel, One/Size might be more your style.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray: This setting spray by Charlotte Tilbury is beloved for its smoothing finish and hydrating formula. It provides a soft-focus effect with a slight glow. One/Size's finish is more matte, so your choice should come down to which result you'd prefer.
The Final Verdict
If you're looking for a setting spray that locks your look in place all day, One/Size Setting Spray has you covered. It's lightweight, mattifying, and keeps shine away without feeling heavy or sticky. While it may not give an ultra-dewy finish, its fine mist and impressive staying power make it perfect for a smooth, long-lasting look, whether you're going for a full glam or a natural vibe. Even though I have drier skin, I still reach for this one.
