REM Beauty
Key Takeaways
- Ariana Grande's R.e.m. Beauty is launching a new collection in collaboration with Wicked: For Good.
- The collection launches October 1, and includes eyeshadows, blushes, lip glosses, and more, all inspired by Oz.
I suppose it's time to stop flying monkey-ing around and figure out how we're going to prepare for the Wicked: For Good release in November. We have a trailer (!) and we've seen some costume peeks, but what eyeshadow look are we going to wear? (And ruin, when tears stream down our faces during the titular song?)
Ariana Grande has an idea.
Ahead of its October 1 launch, the Good Witch herself is clueing us in on R.e.m. Beauty's new Wicked: For Good collaboration. Keep reading to learn all about her inspiration for the products (think eye masks and glosses and liners, oh my!) and favorite ways to wear them.
And let me just say: Because I have this palette... my fall makeup routine has been changed... for good.

The Inspiration
If we learned anything during the original Wicked movie press tour, it's that Grande's connection to the musical runs deep. It only makes sense that she'd extend that passion to the world via her beauty brand once again; last year's Wicked makeup collection was a hit.
Like the musical's second act, the products and packaging are moodier this time around. While the first collection shimmered in pinks and greens—an ode to Glinda and Elphaba, of course—this collection pays more attention to the inner workings of Oz.
REM Beauty
"The tones and themes of this film are a little bit heavier and a little bit darker, so of course, we had to follow suit with our collection," Grande tells Byrdie.
The extensive collection features Ozian takes on a number of R.e.m. favorites, including makeup sets suited for both Glinda and Elphaba and eye masks in holographic tones reminiscent of Glinda’s bubble, Emerald City green, and Tin Man silver. There are also poppy motifs, metallic liners, and pigmented shadows that make you feel like you're taking a trip into the deep, dark forests of that dreamland.

The Products
The collection's star eyeshadow palette is the *perfect* example of that dramatic second act feeling. "The Ozian Forest Eyeshadow Palette is full of magical unexpected jewel tones and lush greens, and some references to the yellow brick road," Grande explains. "We wanted to do something a tiny bit moodier for the second movie's eyeshadow palette."
You can complete your eye look with the Emerald City Metallic Eyeliner Set, which the actress says was designed to look like the buildings in Emerald City—each has its own unique top with shades that are "a modern take on everything Ozian."

For your lips, you can choose between the three bold-yet-wearable Poppy Plumping Lip Glosses, which were "inspired by the beautiful poppy fields that accompany us on our journey in Oz" or the So Popular pH Adaptive Lip Oil.
REM Beauty
"It’s pH adaptive so it goes from a sheer wash with opalescent sparkles in it to a custom shade of pink," Grande adds. "Depending on your ph levels in your body, it changes."
Then, there are the Cherry Blossom Blush Palettes, which the star says are "incredible."
REM Beauty
"I use these on my cheeks, I also use them as eyeshadow. I use them all over my face!" she explains. "Both of these palettes show up so beautifully on all skin tones." Even green.
