Saie's New Setting Spray Gives Me Satin Skin That Stays All Day

The Inspiration

CitySet was created for the true city slickers out there. In a mega cute promo video, the brand called it "the clean setting spray that actually keeps up with NYC." It comes in two sizes so one will always fit in your purse.

“I often leave my house in the morning and go straight from meetings to dinner. I’ve been looking for a clean setting spray that really works and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tacky or make me break out," Saie's founder and CEO Laney Crowell shared in a press release. "I wanted to create a spray that could enhance the Signature SaieGlow and lock it in all day."

The label isn't just because it keeps your makeup on for a full day of running around, either. Its formula also includes antioxidant-packed mandarin orange extract to protect your skin from classic city stressors like pollution, UV radiation, and chemical irritants.

"The continuous spray delivers an ultra-fine, luxurious mist that is lightweight on skin, providing a natural-dewy finish without feeling sticky, dry or tight," explained the brand in a press release. "It's formulated with skincare ingredients that soothe and nourish, making it ideal for all skin types—including sensitive and dry skin."

The Formula

Non-comedogenic and alcohol-free, CitySet's makeup setting powers come from hydrolyzed corn starch. The plant-based, biodegradable polymers mimics synthetic versions, locking your makeup down while providing a flexible, comfortable feel.

Meanwhile, that mandarin extract does its thing and humectants like propendial and glycogen hyrate and offer a fresh, dewy glow. The formula was dermatologist tested to be safe for all skin types and helps to support the skin’s natural pH.

"I have been deeply devoted to another setting spray for years now, but Saie may have just stolen her crown. First thing's first, CitySet's mister is excellent. It evenly disperses a fine veil of product that softly coats my face, never spitting or disrupting my makeup with large droplets. It also feels amazing, more like a refreshing face mist than a sticky spray. Once it dries, it feels totally weightless and leaves behind a subtle glow that settles into a satiny finish. I do find myself having to re-power my forehead on top, but that's the case with any spray that's not super matte.
